2016 Opening

The Community Center will re-open in the new year on Monday 4th January 2016. All classes and lessons will be starting back during this week. Please see the “What’s On” section for details of the classes.

We would like to wish all of our customers and users of the centre a very Happy New Year, and look forward to welcoming you back in 2016.

Centre awarded £124,000 for development of multi-use games area

We are delighted to announce that we have been successful in our application for additional funds of £124,000 to complete the redevelopment of the community centre.

These funds will enable us to develop the land to the side of the centre as a multi-use sports area with a 3G surface complete with floodlights. We hope the new area will be completed in the first half of the new year, providing a first-class sporting facility for the whole community to use.

On behalf of the trustees of the Ton Pentre & District Rec Association, we would like to thank everyone who has contributed to the redevelopment of the community centre and support its continued operation. In particular we would like to thank our local groups and organisations, sports clubs and schools for their support and use of the centre, our volunteers – without whom the centre would not be able to remain open and finally the local community who continue to support the centre by coming to its many classes and groups, booking birthday parties and just coming along in an evening to play pool, table tennis and socialise.

Many groups and clubs have supported this application with letters of support for the facility, and we would like to express our appreciation for your support – these include our local schools, local football and rugby teams, FAW Football Trust and Rhondda Communities First
